Did I write that?

I had a few moments to myself yesterday and thought I’d take a stroll down bloggers lane and read through some of my old posts. Wow, I couldn’t believe a lot of the stuff that I actually wrote. Not so much the content, but my grammar, and (not so) well-thought-out opinions. I mean, some of the stuff I wrote was just horrible, and I’m embarrassed that I actually clicked “Publish” on those posts. Then I started thinking Should I at least go back and fix my grammatical errors? For now, my answer is no mostly because I don’t have that much free time. What I will do is this: I apologize to all readers that have read said-posts that were poorly written or poorly thought-out.

Now I’m thinking, How did I let this happen? I read all of my posts at least twice before I publish them and sometimes even wait a few days to let my ideas stew before posting. I think I’ve figured out the problem. I do most of my blogging late at night, after having sat in front of a computer for 10 or 12 hours all day. I’m hardly in a state to be doing any deep thinking/writing after working so long. The other time I write is in between projects to give myself a break from designing—which isn’t any better because I’m not really breaking from my work (though isn’t it ironic that I’m writing this article to give myself a break from real work).

So now I’m trying to figure out a solution to this problem. My schedule isn’t about to change anytime soon. Maybe I can start writing when I usually do (during breaks or late at night) and before I click “Publish”, save it for the morning and take another stab at it. Instead of being in a rush to post new content , I should really wait until I’m completely satisfied with my article. Make sure it is well-written and well-thought-out.

Hopefully from now on, my posts will not read like a train-wreck and will be a little more coherent. And if I start to slip, I expect my readers to let me know!
